30th March, Monday
We got away at about 8 this morning. It’s 350kms to Hyden from Esperance. We turned off for Hyden in Ravensthorpe. The road was good and there weren’t too many road trains thankfully, although the road was good it’s still scary them coming past our caravan as it’s a secondary road. From Esperance to Hyden it’s all wheat farms, not much else. The caravan park is at Wave Rock which is 3 kms out of town. They boast a few little museums, a café and gift store and a small general store at the Rock/caravan park. The caravan park is all sand but the facilities are very good. I need to sit in the camp kitchen area though to use the internet as there is not reception at the van which is only about 20m away? We only got here at about 2 so will only see Wave rock tomorrow which is a short walking distance from the caravan park. We checked out the tiny town (400 population) and the pub to see if Hugo was welcome because we will probably eat there tomorrow night seeing as it is the eve of our return home………. Getting excited to seeing you all. Xxxxxx We came back to camp and gave Hugo a much needed bath, it wasn’t a good one though as we are not allowed to use the hose so could only use the bucket but it was better than nothing, he’s not happy with us.
31st March, Tuesday
This is really it, the very last day of our trip. We will celebrate it by going to the pub for dinner tonight. It rained softly but quite steadily all night and everything was fresh and wet this morning as is my washing which I left on the line, no matter. Today is a lot cooler, 36 degs yesterday and 21 today, quite a big difference. We took a walk to wave rock and then a drive to Mulkas cave and Hippos yawn and then into the tiny but sweet town of Hyden for the paper and a pie at the bakery and then back to camp to veg out until dinner time. So dear peeps…. Adios until the next trip and see the rest of you at home. Xxxxxxx
